Hospital, the very sound of the word stirs up many mental images. The very word itself means, “a place of hospitality”. Typically if we, or a loved one, is being admitted into the hospital we are at our weakest. We are in need of, or entrusting our loved one to, the care of another. A hospital is a place of safety, refuge, and healing. What would happen if it no longer was? What would happen if you took your sick or injured loved one to a hospital and they never emerged? What if not only do they not survive, but they fail to survive due to an unsafe environment?
This is exactly what is happening. The place intended for safety, refuge, and healing is being attacked. Life safety features are being downgraded. Fire prevention and protection systems are being removed.
